Urban Eco Industrial Park

The Lanzit Site in Watts has been a derelict, impaired and neglected site for decades. This award winning project(ASLA 2022 Urban Design), a collaboration with WLCAC, envisions an ecological industrial park with industrial arts education, cultural and social gathering areas, and therapeutic and food gardens as a restorative commons. The walk to work job model is coupled with an extensive stormwater treatment design to address the stormwater and the point source polution of the adjacent Compton Creek. Analysis of the High Injury Network Streets, connectivity throughout Watts, and a continuous tree canopy were considered to provide the community with a holistic vision of ecological justice.
